Sports competitions are common and happen often in different countries and places. You are very lucky if you have skills and knowledge in playing one of the most popular sports like basketball, volleyball, table tennis, martial arts, swimming, and other choices because you have the opportunity to give honor to your family, relatives, friends and most of all to your fellow countrymen.

Winning in different sports competition should make proud as an awardee. Surely, this is your biggest dream in life and it is a must that you show gratefulness to the people who supported you a lot.

GET BACK TO YOUR COACH

Coaching2

Your coach is the first person that you have to get back to and say "thank you." Being proud is not enough if you do not know how to look back and acknowledge the person who taught you all about your sport. Include him or her in your achievement.

Tue, 26 Jun 2012 09:40:00 -0700 Crazy Fluke or the Most Amazing Shot in Golf History? http://sportsloving.posterous.com/crazy-fluke-or-the-most-amazing-shot-in-golf http://sportsloving.posterous.com/crazy-fluke-or-the-most-amazing-shot-in-golf

Here is the single most amazing shot in golf history: Vijay Singh skips the ball across a pond into the green and it rolls back perfectly for a hole in one. We all knew VJ was one of the best golfers but this shot is just something else!

Was it luck or skill?

Here are two more perspectives on the shot, so that we can judge it more carefully:

Any golf shot requires a bit of luck. Even on an excellent golf course like this one, there are so many factors that affect play. The wind has to be the right direction and strength, the grass and terf must react as expected, etc. But this shot is not just lucky. You can see that the skip on the water was definitely on purpose, and furthermore, this shot was aimed carefully.

There's no doubt that this shot took some serious talent and accuracy. In conclusion, this shot was not just a fluke, but a great and talented shot, and it should go down in history as the most incredible shot ever recorded.

Tue, 26 Jun 2012 09:19:00 -0700 The Undisputed Most Amazing Golf Course in The World http://sportsloving.posterous.com/the-undisputed-most-amazing-golf-course-in-th http://sportsloving.posterous.com/the-undisputed-most-amazing-golf-course-in-th

Limpopo South Africa holds one of the most amazing gems in golf course history. It's located in a nature conservation area and you have to get a helicopter to the 19th hole. Check out this video explaining the history:

Check out these attempts at getting a par 3 from non-professionals, I'd be surprised if any of them got below 6 strokes:

Even the professionals have a hard time with this thing, but Padraigs gets the first ever par 3.

You can find more info on this course in this video here:

This place looks like fun, but you don't need a helicopter ride to enjoy a good game of golf in the mountains. There are other places where you can get a breathtaking mountain view without the hassle of a long trip. If you actually just want a helicopter ride, just do that!

Mon, 14 May 2012 07:50:00 -0700 Swing Like Woods http://sportsloving.posterous.com/swing-like-woods http://sportsloving.posterous.com/swing-like-woods

You don't need to be like Tiger Woods to have fun playing golf. However, to get decent at golf, you should know the very basic things that allowed Tiger Woods to claim the top spot for so many years.

Tiger

Firstly, he doesn't swing just anything at a ball, he swings with a good quality golf club in his hand. The basic thing you need to do is find a golf club that is sturdy, well made, and feels right. Experience several types of golf clubs yourself and learn how to swing them gracefully.

Set

Woods

This is a type of golf club that boosts the ball the farthest, ranging from 200 to 350 yards. Originally, these had a wooden head, and that's where they got their name. However, their heads are made of metal nowadays.

Woods

Irons

The head of this golf club is made with metal. This type is used to hit the ball when you are less than 200 yards from the green. It is numbered from 1 through 9, 1 and 2 are the most difficult to master.

Iro

Wedges

Thesed are used to make the ball fly into the air before it lands on the putting surface. It is more lofted than the others. It has sub classifications, which are:

  • Pitching Wedge- With 46 to 51 degrees loft, used for up to 130 yards to the green.
    Pitch

  • Lob Wedge- It has a loft of as high as 64 degrees. It is used when you need to quickly raise the ball to clear a hazard.
    Llo

  • Sand Wedge- It has a loft between 53 to 58 degrees. It is use to break away from the sand traps and tall trees.
    Sa

  • Gap Wedge- It is used to break the gap created by the pitching and sand wedges.
    Gap

Putters

It is commonly used to roll the ball along the green en route for the hole. The standard putter is 34 to 35 inches long and the 'broomstick' putter is normally taller than the other clubs.

Pu

Having a swing like Tiger Woods means having the right tool. Gear yourself up with the right clubs, use them right, and your swings will be more effective.

Test your golf clubs at any golf courses (like the ones in Canada I visited) see this site where I found some good places to practice.

Thu, 03 May 2012 13:02:00 -0700 A Minute Away From Sports For The Environment http://sportsloving.posterous.com/128417092 http://sportsloving.posterous.com/128417092

Ya, ya.. I know, but sports and the environment are linked, we need a clean environment to play the sports we love.

Obviously, no one still uses the Yellow Pages. So why do they still deliver it? I ask this on a sports blog not because this topic has anything to do with sports, but because it is something that is annoying to me. I always go online to look for sporting equipment. I haven't used The Yellow Pages in years, and yet they still keep producing these crazy big books full of hundreds of pages of paper.

A better question is who is using this stuff to advertise? If I owned a business I wouldn't pay The Yellow Pages a dime, it seems like such a waste of money, money that would be better spent on local search marketing.

These People Agree With Me

Thu, 03 May 2012 12:46:00 -0700 Speaking Of Sports http://sportsloving.posterous.com/speaking-of-sports http://sportsloving.posterous.com/speaking-of-sports

If you are here, it is probably because you love sports. I too enjoy playing and watching sports. Some of the most exciting times in sports are when people get injured. I know, it's not very nice to enjoy when people get injured, and believe me I don't want anyone to get injured, but sometimes the way the injuries happen and the unbelievable pain it must cause can be fascinating and dare I say entertaining.

Here are some videos that highlight some crazy sports related personal injuries.

Sports Injury Compilation

It is amazing the way the body looks when it is broken.

Ouch!

Of course the worst injuries are probably in hockey. The combination of ice, sticks, skates and speed make for some pretty brutal injuries.

Hockey Injuries

Well if those hockey guys are looking for a Toronto personal injury lawyer to sue another player, they may be out of luck because I think those injuries are all part of the game. They might need some hockey training when all things are said and done.

Thu, 03 May 2012 12:20:00 -0700 Ontario Ski Resort Season Is Over http://sportsloving.posterous.com/128410769 http://sportsloving.posterous.com/128410769

So winter is coming to a close, and the Ontario Ski Resort season is ending. I for one am happy, but I will miss skiing. It is the best time you can have in the winter. I am a fairly good skier. I can make it down the hill in one piece, and have never injured myself.

One of my favourite things to do on a day of skiing is to watch the experts. Usually they are a lot younger than me, and they are a bit crazy too.

I was looking online for some crazy skiing stunts, and this is what I came across.

Not All Ski Stunts Are For Downhill

This is an amazing video. These mena and women are truly experts.

Let's see what some can do going downhill

THIS Is Unbelievable!

crazy right? sorry about the language, but I had to include it!

Of course things don't always go right.

Skiing Stunts Gone Wrong

Ok.. maybe I will leave the ski stunts to the experts. Next season when I am at an Ontario ski resort I will sit back and admire like I usually do!

Fri, 27 Apr 2012 07:59:00 -0700 Have You Ever Heard of Blind Golfing? http://sportsloving.posterous.com/have-you-ever-heard-of-blind-golfing http://sportsloving.posterous.com/have-you-ever-heard-of-blind-golfing

Here's something I had never heard about until recently: blind golf. Apparently, there are many blind golfers and even blind golfing tournaments. According to the International Blind Golf Association:

Although there have been blind golf tournaments held since the early 1950’s the International Blind Golf Association was officially founded in 1998. This came about through the efforts of Dr. Haruhisa Handa (now Honorary President of I.B.G.A.) who arranged meetings in Australia and the United States which resulted in bringing together six countries that were each following their own programme. The number of member countries has grown steadily ever since.

Currently there are over 500 registered I.B.G.A. players and many more playing who are not yet registered. The number is growing all the time.

So how well can the blind play golf?

Check out the video below of a blind golfer who scores a hole in one!

How can I learn more?

There may be a blind golf community near you, I know there is one near me. See these links to learn more:

Fri, 27 Apr 2012 06:04:00 -0700 5 Top Tips to Improve Your Hockey Skills in the Summer http://sportsloving.posterous.com/5-top-tips-to-improve-your-hockey-skills-in-t http://sportsloving.posterous.com/5-top-tips-to-improve-your-hockey-skills-in-t

5. Ball Hockey

Ball hockey is pretty different from ice hockey, but its a great way to practice some of the most important aspects of training: team work, strategy, and passing.

4. Running

If you don't have a year round skating rink near you, running is the next best way to stay in good shape and keep your endurance up over the summer.

3. Watching TV

Sounds strange? It's not excersise but reviewing tapes of your games, or professional games is a good way to learn from mistakes being made, and to figure out what works and what doesn't.

2. Stick handle

Find a flat surface and practice stick handling. There are many different things to practice and to become an expert in. See this eHow article on improving stickhandling as a start.

1. Specialized work outs

The great part about specialized hockey work outs is that you can do them all year around, and they will make you strong as an ox on the rink. Don't just pick workouts at random though, make sure you are doing workouts that are useful hockey training. The video at the top gives one example of many work out possibilities.

As you can see, you don't have to be on the rink to improve your game. These tips will help you improve in the summer and all year around. If you want to learn more about hockey in the summer, check out:
